Elizabeth Gilbert has shared before that creative ideas are like their own spirits. I feel the same about songs. Their melodies, their energies, their consciousness, their lyrics, swirl around and within me. I could easily ignore their spiritual whispers, but I choose to listen and draw them into this reality as best as I can. Writing them down. Crystallizing them. Recording them. Sharing them.
It’s extremely rewarding. Especially because as my relationship with each song depends, it reveals its medicine, not only for me at different times (to listen to or play the song when my Soul craves to), but also to people in the world, at concerts, on the other side of the inter webs. I’ve even had the spirits of songs (mine or other’s) come up as inspiration and healing support during intuitive card readings when I did them. Music is so Magical, so Deep, so Powerful…
Amanda Frances (another inspiration to me, especially because of her relationship with God and amazing wisdom around manifestation) teaches that our heart’s desires are safe guidance. That they’re actually placed there by the Divine. Her work is a lot about clearing and cultivating the energetic pathways that facilitate those dreams coming to Life, through evolving beliefs and / or resonating intentional vibrations. She’s a Superstar of owning her authentic Desires. :)
Songwriting too is about owning our authentic Desires, Truth, and Inspiration. A song can start as a whisper, a vibe, a subtle feeling with flavours, that with loving care can become a whole World of Energetics, Wisdom, and Connection. Manifesting a Desire is like that, listening deeply within and crystallizing what feels authentically good, exciting, right… And like the journey of songwriting it often (not always) requires persistence, devotion to the process, and embracing the journey of its blossoming.
